'In Search of Peace'

Peace for Afghanistan
An Afghan Discourse since 21 September 2020

ONGOING FESTIVAL WITH DIFFERENT STRANDS OF ACTIVITIES

To honour all those who have lost their lives over the course of more than forty years of war and conflict and applaud the long-term resilience of those who have remained hopeful, to promote peace and to support the
1st Afghan Library & Peace Centre.

The story so far ...

The Afghan International Peace Conference and Festival was officially launched on 21 September 2020, as part of an Afghan International Peace Engagement Project. It is an effort to promote peace, with the aim of establishing the first Afghan Library & Peace Centre dedicated to Afghanistan and all victims of the conflict throughout the last five decades of war.

Since the launch, we have received an overwhelming level of interest and positive response from the community, as well as individual academics, scholars, artists, activists and other stakeholders. Each individual has supported with unique contributions, playing an invaluable part in the foundation of this crucial centre and space. As part of our collaboration, we have also supported the promotion of their work and efforts, effectively enabling a joint discourse on Afghanistan.

Through this initiative and our resulting partnerships, we have been able to form a community of change-seekers, as well as a platform determined to aid the Afghan people and preserve the rich heritage, art and culture of our country during its highest level of crisis.

Since last year, we are showcasing the art and culture of Afghanistan and providing access to a selection of our library content at our new library space in London. We continue to run a variety of different workshops and other events.

If you are interested in supporting our initiative, please get in touch with us. We welcome any form of support as long as it reflects the aims and objectives of this project. Thank you.
